چکیده
Objectives Survival in patients with chondrosarcomas has not improved over 40 years. Although emerging evidence documented the efficacy of navigation-assisted surgery, prognostic significance remains unknown. We aimed to assess clinical benefit surgery for pelvic involving peri-acetabulum. Methods studied 50 who underwent limb-sparing periacetabular performed navigation (n = 13) without it 37) at a referral musculoskeletal oncology centre between 2000 and 2015. Results The intralesional resection rates navigated non-navigated groups were 8% 1) 19% 7), respectively; all bone margins clear group. 5-year cumulative incidence local recurrence was 23% 56% groups, respectively (p 0.035). There no intra-operative complications related use navigation. trend toward better functional outcomes group (mean MSTS score, 67%) than 60%; p 0.412). At mean follow-up 63 months, disease-specific survival 76% 53% group, 0.085), whilst progression-free 62% 28% 0.032). Conclusion This study confirmed control computer limb-salvage chondrosarcomas, although advancement other treatment modalities is required improvement survival.

Computer Assisted Planning, Simulation and Navigation of Periacetabular Osteotomy
Periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) is an effective approach for surgical treatment of hip dysplasia in young adults. However, achieving an optimal acetabular reorientation during PAO is the most critical and challenging step. Routinely, the correct positioning of the acetabular fragment largely depends on the surgeons experience and is done under fluoroscopy to provide the surgeon with continuous l...
متن کاملPelvic resections.
The complexity of pelvic anatomy and the extent of tumor growth makes treatment of patients with primary bone sarcomas in the pelvis difficult in terms of local control. Before the 1970s, most tumors in the bony pelvis were surgically treated with hindquarter amputation. Currently, improved techniques for clinical staging, adjuvant treatments, evolutions in metallurgy, and development of new su...

We report the early results of nine patients with periacetabular malignancies treated with Enneking and Dunham type 2 resection and reconstruction using extracorporeally irradiated (ECI) tumour bone combined with total hip arthroplasty (THA). Diagnosis was chondrosarcoma in six patients, osteosarcoma in two patients, and metastatic renal cell carcinoma in one patient. All patients underwent sur...

PURPOSE This study evaluated different fibular-based reconstruction techniques for grade III posterolateral corner (PLC) injuries. METHODS Seven fresh-frozen cadaveric knees were used in this study. A surgical navigation system was used to determine varus opening and external rotation at 0 degrees , 30 degrees , and 60 degrees with a 9.8-Nm varus stress and 5-Nm external rotation stress appli...
